sense of deep space. Accompanied perfectly by the subtle sound design of Marcelo Baldin
Another World – iOS
I was more than a little bit exited when I found out that the 20th anniversary edition of the classic platform
adventure game Another World by Eric Chahi was coming to iOS. I have such fond memories of this
atmospheric and ground breaking game. It’s rotoscoped polygon-based animation and beautiful
backgrounds were so ahead of it’s time.
Fez – Polytron Corporation
FEZ is videogame in development by Polytron Corporation coming out on Xbox Live Arcade and a finalist in
this year’s IndieCade. It’s a wonderfully crafted 16 bit styled, 2D puzzle-platformer with a 3D twist.
Ash Thorp – UBC
While every project in Ash Thorp’s portfolio is incredibly inspirational , the illustrations from the University of
British Columbia project drew me in with it’s colours and sparseness.
Countdown – Céline Desrumaux
An incredible animated short film from Céline Desrumaux set to the music of Apparat.
A beautifully designed piece with elegant details and gorgeous colour palette.
Skyence – INSCT
A beautifully textured collaboration between Skyence and Johannes Timpernagel (Berlin).
Animation generated in VVVV, edited in After Effects.
Journey – Thatgamecompany
In Journey the player takes the role of an unknown wanderer in a desert with no map or
instructions only a looming mountain in the distance to journey towards. The environment and
atmosphere crafted by Thatgamecompany is simply beautiful.
